Xim (Caller: Andrew Swaine)
Xim are a Norfolk band featuring melodeon, hurdy gurdy, bagpipes, flute and bass. Created in 1998, Xim implant rhythm and groove into their original tunes, shaped by the traditional dance music of central France. Florida (Caller: Gordon Potts)
Those of us who have ranted and raved to their brazen driving rhythms will know why they are being booked at more and more bops....The band plays with the spontaneity born of hard work and preparation... Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies

Shindig (Caller: Alan Helsdon)
Shindig are now one of Norfolk's established barn dance and ceilidh bands, with a repertoire of mainly 18th and 19th century English tunes, though as they say, you can't beat a good tune whatever it's origin.

The English Contra Dance Band (Caller: Rhodri Davis)
The English Contra Dance Band were formed in 2002, catching the big wave of American contra dance enthusiasm breaking in the UK. Contra dancing is a form of American folk dance which is easy enough for beginners to join in, whilst being varied enough to keep the experts interested. And believe me, its great fun!

Elessar is the ever-changing face of the UEA folk society band. Made up of students, graduates and economically active members of society, they play tunes from their beloved Norfolk, the rest of the UK and beyond. Elessar play not only for UEAs own event, but also regularly play in Norwich for public ceilidhs.
