By BusThe Aberdeen Bus Station is just a shopping centre (Union Square) away from the train station on Guild Street. By AirIf you feel that Aberdeen is too far for you to travel by land, you will be pleased to hear that you can also fly to IVFDF! Easyjet flies to Aberdeen from London Luton and Gatwick. If you are travelling from near Bristol or Belfast you might want to consider flying to Edinburgh with Easyjet and taking a bus or train up to Aberdeen from there. Other airlines with direct flights to Aberdeen from around the UK include bmi, British Airways, FlyBE and Eastern Airways. To find out the best flights from where you are travelling from you might want to check the web, for example www.cheapflights.co.uk/flights/Aberdeen/. There is regular buses available to the airport for £2.50 single, £3.00 day return, £3.60 period return (use whenever you like within 28 days). On Friday, the buses are departing the airport every half hour until 22:30. You can stop at the 'Northern Hotel' stop which is the closest to the IVFDF venue. On Sunday, the buses are leaving the Union Square station at half past every hour and then have a stop point near the 'Northern Hotel' shortly after. The Northern Hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the IVFDF main venues. By BoatAberdeen has its own harbour close to its train/bus station. If you want a more human-sized harbour, check out Stoneaven's Harbour. It is a 20 minutes drive from Aberdeen and there is regular and affordable buses and trains. The harbour and the train/bus stations are quite close from each other. By Magic broomLand there, on the playing field and be discreet, no need to scare people! The festival office is located just south, outside the field, on University Road. From the train/bus station to the main venueIf you want to come by foot from the bus/train station, when you get out of the station you can reach the Aberdeen University campus after 20-30 mins walk. To find your way from the train and bus station and Union Square Mall complex to IVFDF venue at the Aberdeen University, you want to head north. Use Market Street to reach Union Street which runs parallel to Guild Street (where the station is). When you reach Union street, you turn right and keep going until the end of the street where you find King Street on your left (Castlegate is in front of you at that point). You just need to follow King Street for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the university. To recognise your arrival, look for the pub called “The Bobbin” on your right and a road called “University Road” on your left. You will be able to see King's College which is featured in IVFDF 2012 logo. The main venue is located a bit further up University Road.
