Nancy Kerr and the Sweet Visitor Band

Nancy_Kerr Influential singer-violinist Nancy Kerr recently launched her eagerly anticipated solo debut, Sweet Visitor, and on the tour to promote the album with her Sweet Visitor Band, she will be stopping off at IVFDF. Already a respected interpreter of traditional material, Nancy’s emergence as a writer of rare style has drawn comparisons to William Blake in her reawakening of a radical folk mythology as a backdrop for contemporary narratives about love and conflict, migration, hardship and jubilation, and the tensions between rural and urban life.

Nancy is joined on stage at IVFDF by James Fagan (Cara Dillon, The James Bros, and co-winner with Nancy of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo) Tom Wright (Albion band, Park Bench Social Club, Eliza Carthy), Tim Yates (Blackbeard’s Tea Party, Albion Band) and Rowan Rheingans (Lady Maisery).

“A songwriter steeped in the tradition, but casting it anew.” Songlines “Quite breathtakingly beautiful.” Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2.
