Don't trust people who do acupuncture...
...they'll stab you in the back!
Hello - we are getting close to IVFDF now - preparations are fully underway! One of the most traditional things that happens at IVFDF is the display ceilidh (it is the event that started the whole festival off) - or the displaylidh if you prefer, which will be happening on Saturday afternoon. Here, various folk dancing societies from around the country do a short slot (max length 5 minutes) doing some really cool dancing like this

Or like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPQLEAcoBb8 . There will be a sheet to sign up on available at the reception desk, where (ideally in legible handwriting!) you say who you are, what you are doing, and if we are very lucky, a way of transferring the music file onto a computer! Or you if you are a very organised society you can help us out by signing up online.
In between the display spots there will be lots of time for everyone else to dance. It is a wonderful afternoon dancing away.
We are also excited to announce our final dance venue!!! It is again at the Junction, but this time at J3 - a smaller venue than J1, but with a lovely floor to dance on! Again, it is conveniently all rather close together - see our maps page. Below is another wonderful photo of the excellent dance venue (playing a quiet game of musical chairs)!

This week, I leave you with a wonderful video showing Morris Dancing at it’s finest - it is Fiver Rivers Morris dancing at IVFDF 2016 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd34lHOs75o .
Have a nice week, and don’t forget to buy your ticket - just over one more week of the early bird discount!!!

PS What are the similarities between a viola and a SCUD intercontinental missile?
They are both offensive and inaccurate
