Welcome to the official website for the 55th Inter-Varsity Folk Dance Festival. This weekend festival of traditional music and dance from the British Isles and beyond has been an annual institution since 1951. In its illustrious history it has visited many sites across the UK, hosted by a different university based group each year, and now after a thirteen year absence the 3 day party is returning to Norwich and the University of East Anglia.
While the primary focus of the festival is to encourage involvement and participation in traditional music and dance by students and young people in particular events are open to everyone and there is something of interest for all age groups. So come along and join our wacky workshops, death defying displays, Scottish, French and Contra ceilidhs, hear melodious music and survive our 12 hour ceilidh marathon!
