Main Events

On Friday night, there is a choice of two great, but very different ceilidhs. Tickled Pink are a lively, English ceilidh dance band that will rock your socks off on the first night of IVFDF, whereas Xim provide the best in French dance and music.

Saturday is going to be one very busy day! Starting the 12-hour ceilidh marathon at 1pm with Elessar, UEA's own folk band, the afternoon continues with local Norfolk band, Shindig. Then, into the evening with Florida, providing what has been described as folk rock with brass knobs on! And to wind up the evening, we have as last second replacement for Whapweasel, Jabadaw.

In parallel to the marathon, Jez Lowe, described as the best songwriter to come out of England in a long time, gives a concert with his Bad Pennies. For those of you with extra energy, come do some contra dancing with the English Contra Dance Band: guaranteed to leave your head spinning. Finally, there is the Scottish dance, for those of you with the highlands in your soul.

Finally, starting at 1 o’clock on Sunday afternoon, there is the Survivors' Ceilidh. This is your chance to perform by either playing or calling! If you want to play in the scratch band, please come to the band rehearsal on Sunday morning. If you want to call, please sign up at reception before the ceilidh.
