Accomodation

Indoor Camping

Unfortunately, we are now at capacity for sleeping venue tickets. If you do not have an Indoor Camping ticket, bought separatly from a weekend season ticket, then there will be no space for you.

Due to Durham being an old city with few sleeping venues, we are now fully booked at all sleeping venues, and we're stuggling to find more!

Please email if this causes a very large problem (eg. you are a large group) and we shall see what we can do. If we find more sleeping space, then we will update the website accordingly.

There are still some indoor camping places reserved for stewards so if you are applying to be a steward please let us know if you would like an indoor camping space when you send your application form. More information about stewarding can be found here.

If you have already bought a ticket for indoor camping you will be accommodated in one of three venues in the city of Durham:

1. Alington House, North Bailey

2. Elvet Methodist Church Hall, Old Elvet

3. Vane Tempest Hall, Gilesgate

A map including these three locations can be found here. Please bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat. There are toilets but no showers at all three sleeping venues. If you've never heard of indoor camping then a basic guide can be found here.

If you are mobility impaired and would struggle to use stairs please let us know in advance of the festival as some sleeping venues will not be suitable for you. If you let us know that you will be coming we can attempt to reserve you a place in one of the more suitable venues.

Hotels and B&B's

Alternatively you may prefer to stay in one of the many B&Bs or hotels in Durham. Durham, despite being a city, is rather small and compact. From one end to the other is at most a 30-40 minute walk and there are plenty of taxi's. Any accommodation in the town centre would be fine.

You can search for the type of accommodation you prefer on the Visit County Durham website or ring the Durham Tourist Information Centre on 0191 384 3720.
