Iain MacPahil is one of the names in Scottish Dance music circles. He has masses of experience, and a reputation for extremely lively playing. He played for IVFDF when it came to Edinburgh in 1976, and is still going strong today.
He is equally adept with his own tunes and with tunes from his extensive repertoire and will quite happily learn up a new tune in the unlikely event that he is not familiar with the original for the dance.
Beats a trip to the gym any day - Ian Brockbank.
One word of warning, though - if you wear a hat to the dance, make sure it's pinned tightly on, or it will be blown off in the wind of your passage.
